Care Tips

Treat Your Coated Lenses Kindly

#1 Be careful they don’t slip off your fingers.

Tangible Hydra-PEG creates a very slippery lens surface, which is what makes a coated lens so comfortable. Be very careful when removing them from the package or your contact lens case. And, like with any contact lens, don't forget to plug your drain!

#2 Use the correct cleaner.

Tangible Clean is the ideal cleaning, disinfecting and conditioning solution for Tangible Hydra-PEG coated lenses and will protect the coating from damage. Other cleaning solutions compatible with coated lenses include:

  • Unique pH
  • Clear Care (and Clear Care Plus HydraGlyde)
  • Boston Simplus

#3 Do not rinse lenses in tap water.

If you need to rinse your coated lenses, only use Tangible Clean, a compatible solution, or sterile saline. Do not use tap water, as it may wear away the coating.

Tap water also allows bacteria and harmful pathogens to attach to your contacts, which can cause eye infections. These infections may cause eye pain and may feel like there is a foreign body in the eye, and can be difficult to treat. To protect against infection, you should also use sterile saline if you need to rinse your contact lens case; do not use tap water.

#4 Always store lenses in Tangible Clean or other compatible solution.

Never store your lenses dry. Ensure your lenses are stored with plenty of solution. If you leave them in your case dry, this can dry out and damage the special coating. If you need to store your lenses longer than overnight, make sure to change your contact lens solution monthly.

#5 If you have any questions about caring for your lenses, talk to your doctor!

Your doctor knows your eye health history and is best equipped to recommend products, advise you about your contact lenses, and answer any questions.
